Ah decorating is so fun. This was particularly thrilling to construct. Modeled after one of the greatest films of all time, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, here is my glorious Christmas tree.
Okay, so I've neglected this blog horribly. I'll try to be more consistent with my updates.
I have been keeping quite busy lately. Producing more and more prints and, finally, cards!
introducing, the production team.
It took lots-o late nights, redbull, and paper cuts, but eventually, we were ready to sell at the Best of San Diego 2008 CityBeat party. Here I am looking like a dork and trying to be Japanese:
My table was facing an amazing mural by the ridiculously talented Mark Mulroney. Check out his stuff here.
The event was at the Children's Museum downtown, so we did get to act our age.
I haven't gotten out much lately; I've been locked in my apartment drawing or sleeping (which has been wonderful, mind you) But, it is nice to get out every once in a while. This week I got to see 2 amazing 2-piece bands. The Kills (their new album Midnight Boom is terribly addicting):
And the Dresden Dolls (don't have their new album, but their old stuff is great):
I might as well start out by talking about one of my favorite events of the year.....Comic Con. It's a huge convention in San Diego were comic book fiends, film fanatics, gamers, and pop culture enthusiast get together, dress up and geek out. I just got my 4 day pass and am counting down the days...minutes....seconds til the event. Hooray!
Here's my boyfriend, my cousin, and me at the con last year.
